Jade Marsden has been selected as the Conservative Liverpool Metro Mayor candidate with a promise to fight for better transport links, improved housing and to see more apprenticeships.
Jade, who was selected by party members at Monday’s selection meeting, said she believes she is ideally placed to take on the role having good political experience having stood in previous elections on Merseyside.
The election for Metro Mayor, as well as Police and Crime Commissioner, is on Thursday 2nd May
Jade said:
I believe I will make a great candidate for the Liverpool Combined Authority as I am passionate about making the most out of our area.
In 2021 I stood for Metro Mayor in which I gained 66,702 votes, I believe this is a result we should build on.
Jade added that if elected she would work tirelessly to encourage more investment in the region, ensure funding and opportunities reach all areas of the city region and strive to make adult training opportunities among the best in the country.
I will make sure that we listen to all businesses acting in Liverpool City Region and take decisive steps to drive investment in all areas.
We also have some fantastic universities; we need to retain that talent, but we also need to make sure that we provide the tools for people who don’t feel that education route is for them to thrive.
If elected I would also want to make the Liverpool city region the best place to buy a house, do business, work and raise a family.
